I would love to buy a lot of currants without any sugar or other sweetener. Please, make unsweetened option available to us.
    Thank you.

  3. Pleased to finally get currants!

Posted by Agatha on 17th Aug 2011

Twenty five years ago I moved to the U.S and haven't had black or red currants since. In Poland we grew both varieties and as a kid I remember that I couldn't get enough of them when they were in harvest. I ate the currants straight off the shrub.

I am so pleased to have found out about CurrantC and had ordered the black currant concentrate. I can't wait for it to arrive!

  4. I'm addicted to these black currants!

Posted by Christine on 10th Feb 2011

I was seriously upset when Trader Joe discontinued selling black currants a couple of years ago. I suggested to CurrantC to offer dried currants, as they ship and keep so much better than their frozen ones. They finally do.
WHAT A TREAT !!! They are even better than those that Trader Joe used to sell. I kept a small jar vacuum sealed - and did a side by side taste test. The label says that these REAL black currants are slightly sweetened with natural evaporated cane juice.
Sweetened or not - I'm going to keep buying these. They are so yummy! As much as I love living in California, it's not a climate where I can grow my own black or red currants. :(

  5. no sugar please/ tea ingridient

Posted by Yulia on 7th Jan 2011

I am very excited to find a place that sell a black currants. Dry berries perhaps is a best solution for the shipment orders. Besides dry berries ( together with dry top leaves) will make a perfect aroma tea for your - very healthy , very testy, you also may combine it with green tea.
However please do not add sugar to them - use honey!

  6. No Sugar Added, Please

Posted by Mary Jean on 26th Dec 2010

I haven't tried them yet but would like to buy dried currants with no sugar added. Do you plan to make those available at any time? (4-star rating because I love fact that you sell Ribes type (real) currants but am sorry these have sugar added.) thank you.

  7. Delicious

  8. No Sugar? I Second That

Posted by Dave M on 27th Nov 2010

I just got a couple pounds of the dried currants. Though I think they taste great, I would love if you had a "zero added sugar" option.

  9. Can be eaten in variety of ways

Posted by Susan J. on 12th Nov 2010

I love dried currants, and use them in many ways. These tart high fiber berries come out nice and plump after they've been cooked or soaked. Here's one unusual recipe that I really like:

    Beef-Currant Soup

Brown strips or chunks of beef in a couple tablespoons of olive oil, remove from pan.
Saute two medium onions in the same pan.
Place beef and onion in one quart beef broth and simmer until tender.
Add one cup lightly mashed currants (if using dried currants, soak one third cup currants in one cup beef broth or water overnight).
Simmer 20 minutes, then add honey and salt to taste.
    Serve hot.

  10. no sugar?

Posted by Joseph Stellato on 1st Nov 2010

I've been looking for dried Black Currants and was excited when I found your site until I seen you put sugar in them. Do you sell any without added sugar? Just plain Black Currants.
